What are your perspectives and views regarding life and the way of living of the
Indigenous People of Mt. Pinatubo? Compare it with the way of life you are enjoying.
Food is life. Every man, or any living creature for that matter, needs food in order
to live. The lack of food will surely endanger one’s life. To secure food will guarantee a
person ‘s healthy being.
After watching the videos, I have realized how hard the life of the Aeta People is,
and how different it is from the life we enjoy today. Which is when I learned that their lives
were so challenging that they had to travel for many hours to acquire food. In contrast to
them, we can purchase food with just one click on our phone and don't even need to leave
the house to do so. Due to the hardships of the Aetas' lives, some of them no longer eat
rice; they often eat Tambilok, which can be seen on torsos. Even catching it is difficult, so
I am very impressed with them because of their diligence and perseverance in getting
food. Apart from this, cooking will also be difficult because they themselves make fire
using stones. Since the Aetas live in the mountains and have access to little resources,
their way of life is totally different from ours today. In that video, I came to realize that's
how the indigenous people live, where they are so persistent that they do it every day in
search of food. They even travel a long way to the mountains just to have something to
eat and survive and I commend them for that. Not everyone can do what they do and I
am one of them. Even if they ate something different, it was very nutritious and even
though they were old, they were still able to walk very far.
To conclude, the life that I am enjoying today is far different from the life that they
are experiencing. Whereas, I don't have to walk far just to get something to eat, I don't
have to make my own fire to cook. I must say, my life was easier than theirs because of
the resources that I had, but they are way healthier than me because of the food that they
eat, which is all organic.
