Cruz, Jr. took another step towards the attainment of continuous learning in the new normal as the school held the orientation to parents for the effective implementation of the limited faceto-face classes. The school-based orientation held last March 29, 2022 aims to raise awareness the duties and responsibilities to both parents/ guardians and learners and a deeper understanding of the new set-up in education. The orientation program was formally started with a prayer led by Ms. Mila Lambojon and nationalistic song was rendered in a form of a video presentation. This was followed by the welcome message Ms. Alicia C. Abergas. In her message, she acknowledged the great role of the local government unit, the school administration, the teacher and the parents in assuring that education would continue in time of pandemic. She also stated the importance of attending the orientation as it would give the parents the ideas on how to properly guide their children in these challenging times. She also encouraged the parents to never get tired of supporting and guiding their kids to ensure learning at home despite the pandemic. Right after her introductory remark, she talked about the “Role of Parents/Shared Responsibility” which involved parental guidance and supervision of their children’s learning. In her talk, she enumerated the duties of the parents. Ms. Aira Mae E. Gerzon, was the next speaker and she discussed the qualification of the face to face classes and the importance of the Parents Waiver/Consent on limited faceto-face classes as it supports the concrete preparations of the government for the reopening of schools. Consent and liability should be very clear as the guidelines for the pilot implementation of limited face-to-face classes. And as the school WiNS coordinator and part of the school COVID Task Force my main function is to promote correct hygiene and sanitation practices among school children and a clean environment in and around the school especially in this time of pandemic, that is why I was tasked to explain the “Safety and Health Protocols in School/School Safety Policy. I have to reiterate and remind them certain policy, guidelines and health protocols in and around the schools and and the importance of its strict implementation for the welfare of their child and to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission. Handwashing upon entrance, wearing facemask, the entry and exit point, social distancing were just among the few things being discussed during my talk. lOMoAR cPSD| 14024987 After everything had been discussed, I closed the meeting by expressing my gratitude in behalf of Casisang National High School community to parents who shared their valuable time in attending the orientation.
