II. Project Summary
The pandemic affects the education system in our country. Schools are closed and bring
difficulties to teachers, parents, and learners. The Department of Education, Schools
Division Office of Sorsogon City launched different programs to support various learning
needs. This is in accordance with Division Change Plan, Build a legacy program of SDS
William E. Gando. The teacher’s commitment to adapting distance learning to continue
the education system is pivotal. The ability to access computers and access to the internet
are much-needed skills educators must be developed.
The proposed activity, “Utilization of Canva for Education” aims to capacitate the
teachers on the use of Canva for education. Canva for Education is a powerful feature of
this tool as it allows teachers to set up a virtual classroom, invite students, and have them
collaborate on a project. This could be used in the classroom or remotely, with the aid of
a video chat tool. It is a graphic design tool that works to simplify the process. As such,
an account can easily be created and everything works either via a web browser or on iOS
or Android apps. Canva allows for image editing and project-based learning using a simple
drag-and-drop interface that works well even for younger students.

III. Project Background
The rise of distance or online learning has shifted different opportunities both for
teachers and learners. Although it offers a solution to continue education, it also poses
challenges, particularly to educators. Teachers have shifted conventional classrooms to
technological means of learning. Teachers started a new learning phase and had to learn further
to make online classes engaging.
The Canva for Education is a powerful design tool, that allows teachers the students to
create visually stunning designs for any subject or age level. Canva can be used by teachers to
generate posters, guidance, and projects, but it can also be accessed by students for tasks. Pupils
can use a powerful tool that aids expression to make presentations that are clear and wellfinished, and that can also be used for future reference.
IV. Project Objectives
A. Terminal Objective:

To introduce Canva for Education to the participants.
B. Enabling Objectives:
 Capacitate the teachers on the use of Canva for Education.
 Orient teachers with the different features and tools of Canva.
 Make simple creative designs and video presentations.

Participants in this innovation project will be the total enumeration of 31
teachers of Balogo Elementary School, Sorsogon East.

C. Project Deliverables
 75% of teachers create an account to Canva for Education
 Teachers can create simple certificate designs or simple video lesson
presentations.
D. Project Risk Management
The proposed activity “Utilization of Canva for Education” will be participated by the
teachers. As to observe and maintain the health protocols during the implementation of
this project, wearing of facemask, washing hands, social distancing, and using hand
sanitizers and alcohol will strictly be observed.
