Re: Marcellin College – VCE Physics Teacher
To whom it may concern,
I am writing to express my interest for the advertised role, VCE Physics Teacher. I feel that I am
qualified to fill this role as I have gained eleven years of experience teaching Physics and Science at
Viewbank College, Rosanna. In my time at Viewbank College I have participated in many curriculum and
cross curricular activities, gaining an extensive knowledge of school processes as well as improved
school processes, established a strong rapport with staff, students and the community. I see this
opportunity as a means to further my career and to participate in the Marcellin Community.
My Year 12 Physics students have continuously obtained results above what VCAA predicted from their
GAT result. I have continued to monitor and assess student achievement in General Science and
observed student growth. By incorporating VCE Science concepts into General Science curriculum it has
been possible to continue to successfully improved the readiness of students undertaking VCE science.
I have held many positions where I have been able to display a capacity to work in high level teams. I
have held several positions of higher duty, including; Year 12 Level Leader, Stella House Coordinator,
and ICT Coach. In doing so, I believe I have gained the experience to be an important member of any
learning environment.
My focus has always been, improving high level learning for students. I would like all of the students in
my care to achieve their best, however, I also want to see them develop into young adults who are
valued members of our world. I feel enormously proud knowing that some of my ex-students are now
making a difference in the wider world. I would like to continue to contribute to students becoming
outstanding citizens.
As a former student of Marcellin College, I believe that I have a firm understanding of the Catholic and
Marist traditions. Striving for the highest has always remained a part of my life. I continue to have a
strong affinity for the college, having seen my younger brother, cousins and friends graduate, each
enjoying their time at Marcellin. Each has gained different experiences as the college offers a diversity
in programs, and I am eager to make a contribution to these programs.
I understand that Marcellin has recently changed the structure of classes for students. I would like to
be able to contribute to this process, to further improve the learning opportunities for students and
increase their ability to grow and achieve.
I hope that my application is considered for the position of VCE Physics Teacher, as I believe that I have
the skills and attributes to enrich the lives of the students at Marcellin College.
