NARRATIVE REPORT IN LEARNING AT HOME
New home… New journey… New normal…
A Chinese philosopher once said, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single
step.” In this time of Pandemic, the New normal set-up is learning at home whereas parents and
other members of the family acts as a teacher to their children. The widespread prevalence of
COVID-19 pandemic has affected academia and parents alike. Due to the sudden closure of
schools, students are missing social interaction which is vital for better learning and grooming
while most schools have started modular and online classes. This has become a tough routine for
the parents.
In this time of uncertainty, families and teachers are struggling to help children learn at
home. Many kids and adults are struggling with self-regulation, finding it difficult to stay
motivated and focused on schoolwork without the structure of the classroom. With the proper
coordination and support of parents and teachers of Alitagtag Central School on assisting pupils
on their learning, it can say that this home-learning set-up is a first step towards the new normal.
Different communication strategies were given by the teachers to assist parents and learners on
their learning at home.
