DATA DRIVEN GRAPHICS
PHOTOSHOP X EXCEL
WHAT IS IT AND WHY?
Data-driven graphics make it possible
to produce multiple versions of an
image quickly and accurately. For
example, you can produce 100
versions of an ID with different text
and images, all based on a template
design.
In doing Rec & Sec work, this is most
commonly used in making IDs and
certificates for a large number of
people.
1. LEARN
the process of utilizing both softwares in aiding Rec
OBJECTIVES
& Sec work, particularly in transferring data from
excel sheets to photoshop
2. APPLY
these skills in real life situations when needed in a
Rec & Sec position
1. Label column headers in Excel
2. Create your base
design/template in Photoshop (or
request through CRF)
3. Organize and label your layers
4. Define variables in Photoshop
5. Import data files
6. Create folders
7. Process images to .psd
8. Process images to .jpeg or .png
PROCESS

column
headers in
Excel
With the data you need, give the
column headers simple names
