13.13.4
The Contractor shall supply and install all telecommunications wires and
cables between the equipment and distribution frames/ shelves, all wiring
associated with power supplies, both AC and DC and all wiring associated
with earthing. Every cable must be indelibly labelled/ sign written not further
than 150mm from each end with a legend that uniquely and easily identifies
its function, local and far end connections. Factory terminated and tested
cabled should be used wherever possible to limit the possibility if faulty
connections.

Power supply wiring cables (both AC and DC) shall be of single core insulated
copper conductors confirming to BS 6004. AC mains cables must carefully
segregated from all others by being insulated in separate (or divided) trunking
where conduits are not used. DC power supply cabling shall have the following
colour code:
Positive (earth) - black
Negative - blue
AC power shall be taken from a local isolator or fused spur.
