Job Title: MRF Maintenance FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt Exempt Reports To: MRF Manager Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Ability to remove equipment guards safely and clean inside them -Ability to clean all idlers -Maintain all chutes clean of debris -Ability to use compressed air to maintain all equipment clean from dust and debris -Ensure to maintain all MRF floors clean -Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures to ensure safety -Ability to work in close quarter areas around pedestrians and other heavy equipment -Ability to follow directions, daily procedures and protocols -Ability to adapt to constant changing conditions, effectively stay on task -Insure the proper maintenance of equipment and tools and the overall cleanliness and proper functioning of the area, tools, and the machinery after use -Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: -Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time -The ability to work as a team and work well with others -Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions -The work habits to have are reliable transportation, be punctual, and reliable I order to minimize disruptions to the day to day operations PHYSICAL DEMANDS: -Requires the ability to handle material weighing 25 lbs. and occasionally lit and or move up to 100 lbs. -Requires constant pulling, pushing, reaching, bending and grasping -Requires going up and down stairs in order to reach certain equipment locations -The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, stand, climb, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl some for extended periods of time WORK ENVIRONMENT: -Requires working in a fast-paced work environment where there is exposure to loud noises, heat, cold, sharp objects and odors. -Requires the use of a hard hat, safety glasses, work boots, safety vest, hearing protection, harness and gloves at all time -Work shifts vary, regular work day may be anywhere from 4-12 hours depending on daily tonnage -Working overtime is required. Working overtime on the weekends and on certain holidays is required -Ability to work flexible hours -The employee regularly works in outside weather conditions -The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and sometimes exposed to wet and or humid conditions and the noise level in the work environment is usually loud Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
