Canada
Canada is the world’s
second largest country. It
has 10 provinces: Alberta,
British Columbia, Manitoba,
New Brunswick,
Newfoundland and
Labrador, Nova Scotia,
Ontario, Prince Edward
Island, Quebec,
Saskatchewan and 3
territories: Northwest
Territories, Nunavut and
Yukon.
The capital city of Canada is Ottawa. It stands on
the south bank of the Ottawa River in the eastern
portion of southern Ontario.
Toronto is the largest city in Canada. This is
one of the largest megacities in the world.
English and French in
Canada were recognized as
national. Due to the fact
that there are many
immigrants in the country,
Canada is a multicultural
country. The culture of
Canada including
television, cinema,
clothing, music, food,
homes, private transport is
almost the same as the
culture of the United
States.
Unique symbols of Canada are maple, maple
leaf, beaver, moose, royal cavalry.
In Canada, there are the
most interesting annual
festivals. Each month, there
are 2-4 festivals. For
example, a Magnificent
Festival of Lights can be
seen in winter in Vancouver.
This festival is held in
honor of Christmas. The
city is decorated with
thousands of bright lights,
garlands.
Traditions of Canada are based on the traditions of
English and French cultures. For example, the
French influence in the province of Quebec is
manifested in architecture, music, cuisine and
religion. It differs from other English-speaking
regions of Canada.
