CELL PROJECT
Project Plan for Grade 5, Life Science

OVERVIEW & PURPOSE
Cells are the basis of all life and knowing the different organelles that make up the cell
and their functions is the groundwork for your understanding of biology. To
demonstrate your understanding of cells, you must create a 3D model of an animal or
plant cell.
Method:
1. Make a 3d model of a plant or animal cell with all the organelles.
2. Use a variety of materials and colors. It can even be anything you find laying
around the house that resembles an organelle. (​Examples: ​dry pasta, craft items,
modeling clay, playdoh, construction paper, styrofoam, legos, etc)
3. Clearly label all the organelles of the cell depending on which type you decided on
(make sure spelling is 100% correct)
4. Also include the functions of each organelle.

1. To demonstrate your understanding of animal and/or plant cells
2. To display your creativity and originality
