Substitute Lesson Plan Information (9/30/2019)
To whom it may concern,
Thank you for covering my class today. I am an 8th grade reading teacher. You will be getting an amazing group of
students today.
IF MY CLASSES ARE WELL BEHAVED PLEASE LEAVE A “GOOD” NOTE!!!!!!!

NOTE: I teach 2 block periods. The schedule is listed on the board. Please do not let students move seats around,
and DO NOT let them leave the classroom a mess at the end of the class period. Students should be NO WHERE
near my desk, or closet, and they should be working on something the entire class period.
Class Expectations (Daily)








Students are to stay in their seats unless given permission
No bathroom unless students do their work (pass will be is on a hook by the door)
You dismiss the students, not the bell
Students are to remain on task and compliant
The voice level should be ZERO.
DO NOT let kids eat in class
Classwork needs to be turned it at the end of the period.
o They will turn it into their class period’s turn in area
The room needs to stay clean, that means no trash on the floor
Lesson Plan
Assignment:
 Read, annotate, and answer questions for both nonfiction text titles, “Many educators fear 13 Reasons
Why" is sending mixed messages to teens” and
“Thirteen Reasons Why" author says book
censorship is dangerous”
Directions:
-SSR (First 20 minutes of class)
-Read and annotate both selections
-Answer the questions
-Fill in the graphic organizer
-Questions 3 may be answered at the bottom of
the page.
