Summary
Ferdinand E. Marcos was the 10th President of the Republic of the Philippines. At young age
he was exposed to politics because his father was already running and became a congressman. For
the second time, his father ran for congressman but did not make it, it was Julio Nalunsad who
won, but was killed by Marcos.
Until he finished his studies and became lawyer and top the bar exam. He was then elected
as President of the Philippines but during his term the country suffered from chaos.
He looted from the Philippine Government and was accused of many human rights
violations. Due to unpeaceful and disorder communites, rallies against his administration took
place all over the country, he decided to declare martial law.
Martial Law lasted for nine years. This Martial Law started the revolution of the Filipino
people but in peaceful manner called People Power. And it was on February 25, 1981 when
Marcos was ousted to Hawaii and remain there until his death.
