The MR-24® roof system eliminates this problem with staggered panel splices. All splices are located over supporting steel to reinforce vulnerable areas, as opposed to mid-air splices common with other manufacturers. (Refer to page 13 for more details) BUTLER® (supported) BUTLER® The Pittsburgh Double-lock Seam Perfect Alignment Only the MR-24 roof system seams are mechanically fieldrolled 180 degrees to complete a 360-degree Pittsburgh doublelock seam. Other manufacturers simply crimp or snap the seams into place, forming a loose, vulnerable seal. This unique MR-24® seam virtually eliminates roof leaks. All roof panels and structural members of the MR-24 roof system are factory-punched to assure proper alignment and weather-tightness, as well as the accurate installation of closures, roof accessories and trim. ® ® Studies show that 90% of roof leaks are due to poorly designed or installed roof penetrations. The MR-24 roof system comes with a complete range of accessories, including roof penetrations and trims, fully engineered at the factory to fit seamlessly and weather-tight into the system to eliminate misalignment and eradicate leaks. Splice support located directly over supporting steel secures solid structures. Staggered panel splices prevent exposed seams and assure weather-tightness. Roof Curb Openings Roof Clips Designed to Move Precision Engineering The MR-24 Roof Easily Expands and Contracts ® The MR-24® clip allows the roof to expand and contract with changing temperatures. This mobility prevents stress at the clips, fasteners and splices, which could otherwise make the roof vulnerable to leaks and wind damage. Studies show that 90% of roof leaks are due to poorly designed or installed roof penetrations. Every BUTLER® roof curb and opening is fully engineered at the factory so there is no field engineering. Unlike the exposed fastener designs other manufacturers use, BUTLER’s internal flange design conceals fasteners within the curb and eliminates leaks. Supported Panel End Splices BUTLER® Other Manufacturer Reinforce Vulnerable Areas Splices are created when two roof panels must be joined together. Most manufacturers allow midair splices, resulting in stress under roof traffic or heavy snow. The BUTLER® system eliminates this problem by locating splices directly over supporting steel. Integrated Gable Trim Designed for Thermal Expansion and Contraction The gable trim is also designed to expand and contract with daily and seasonal temperature changes. It becomes an integral part of the roof system and improves performance and durability. Translucent Roof & Wall Lite Panel Over time, industry standard light transmitting roof panels turn yellow and brittle and start to deteriorate after just a few years. This results in leaks and high maintenance costs. The Lite Panels that come with your BUTLER® building are made of translucent, colourless, thermosetting and unsaturated polyester resin with thoroughly impregnated glass-fibre reinforcement. In addition, a Tedlar coating prevents ultraviolet deterioration. They won’t turn yellow or brittle, allowing minimum rate of light transmission up to 75% (uninsulated) and 60% (insulated). The Lite Panel completely matches the width and corrugation of MR-24® roof sheets with steel panel at two sides of the Lite Panel, so it can finish the 360 degree Pittsburgh double-lock standing seam with adjoining steel panel. Corrugation BUTLER® Other Manufacturer Lock Rivet BUTLER’s gable trim is seamed in with fewer fasteners (up to 85% less fasteners), resulting in less potential for leaks, roof problems and maintenance.
