Classification Business Environment > Business Culture and Environment Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 Definitions Organisation refers to a specific business entity which may be – for profit or non-profit; in private, public, or voluntary sectors; a business unit, iwi, or other special purpose body. External environmental information refers to aspects of the technological, commercial, economic, financial, political, regulatory, socio-cultural and physical environments, and also includes product and service markets (export and domestic). Internal environmental information refers to the capabilities and limitations of the organisation, and includes but is not limited to human, physical, technological and financial capabilities and limitations. Stakeholders refers to individuals and groups that have interest in the organisation and/or its products or services. Stakeholders may include but are not limited to – customers, suppliers, owners, shareholders, lenders, managers, employees, employee organisations, local community, competitors, and regulatory bodies. 2 This unit standard will be assessed against on the basis of evidence of demonstrated performance in the workplace or in simulated situations that demand performance equivalent to that required in work. This unit standard is expiring Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Conduct an environmental analysis for an organisation. Range analysis – internal, external. Evidence requirements 1.1 Quantitative and qualitative environmental information is gathered from reliable and authoritative sources. Range 1.4 evidence of use of at least one qualitative and one quantitative tool which may include but are not limited to – statistical inference, decision trees, flow charting, mapping, regression models, time series. Analysis and supporting information are presented in a form that aids decisionmaking, and in a timely manner. Replacement information This unit standard, unit standard 23915, unit standard 23916, and unit standard 23917 have been replaced by unit standard 27762 and unit standard 27763.
