Classification Science > Science - Core Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 This unit standard can be used to award credit for the achievement of learning outcomes consistent with the New Zealand Association of Science Educators (NZASE) Certificate in Science Syllabus, and is based on objectives from levels 4 and 5 of – Ministry of Education, Science in the New Zealand Curriculum (Wellington: Learning Media, 1993). 2 The instructions include a focus question. Templates and resources are supplied. 3 Where field work is involved, learners’ health and safety practices must comply with the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, and their subsequent amendments, codes of practice, and regulations. Where laboratory work is involved, learners’ health and safety practices must comply, in addition to the above, with AS/NZS 2243.1: 2005 Safety in Laboratories – Planning and operational aspects and subsequent additions and amendments.
