Siemens together with UNEP hosts four
Practitioners‘ Lounges at the World Climate Summit
Desription of lounges
Siemens together with UNEP provide a platform to discuss how to successfully implement sustainable
infrastructure projects in emerging economies. Project practitioners will show which challenges may
appear in the set-up and implementation of a project and how to overcome them, addressing issues
related to technology, business models, regulatory frameworks and public/social acceptance.
Finance:
In the light of a growing importance of NAMAs, what do financial instruments and arrangements look like
that channel public funds effectively and leverage private capital for sustainable infrastructure projects?
Mobility:
What are solutions to the increasing mobility challenges in fast-growing cities of emerging countries in
particular regarding mass transit?
Cities:
How can cities become more sustainable and resource-efficient, particularly in the areas of urban
planning and buildings?
Energy:
How can the barriers to implementation of renewable energy projects be overcome in emerging
countries?
