Linda Hickey - Massage therapists use their hands to explore and treat the soft tissue of the body - muscle, tendon, and fascia. And we do that in a way that calms the nervous system and brain while giving the person a sense of rest, rejuvenation and that
all is well. Our work environments are generally calm, quiet and conducive to relaxation, and the nature of out work allows us time and space to take care of ourselves through breath, posture and focus. Touch is powerful for both the giver and the
receiver. While I have been working with pregnant and new mothers for 20 years in private practice - other therapists work for chiropractors or in injury rehabilitation centers with a team of other health related professionals.
