Thus, components can be completely finished in just one clamping. The machine can be used in its various automation stages both for small series as a flexible machine as well as for large series as a highly productive machine. Simultaneous machining Apart from sequential machining, the machine can also be fitted for simultaneous machining. We talk about simultaneous machining when several tools are working simultaneously on one component or several components are being machined simultaneously. In the case of the CNC 235 and CNC 245, both the variants are possible. Two additional axes below the grinding spindles allow e.g. simultaneous external and internal grinding. The simultaneous machining of two components can be achieved by the deployment of two main spindles in one machine. The handling of the parts takes place according to the proven Pick-Up principle. This means that the machine axes are used, to pick up the component with the vertical work spindle directly from the conveyor. This saves additional axis for the loading. Optional upgrating But if required additional axis are at disposal, for example for loading/unloading the post process measuring station. Also turn-over stations to machine the part from both sides. Adaptation to your requirement Nonetheless, additional handling axes, e.g. for loading and unloading of an external measuring station, can be used. According to the Pick-Up principle, the work piece performs all the movements. The machine can have up to 4 cross slides depending on the complexity of the requirement. The work piece load and unloading can be variable by conveyors on all sides of the machine. In combination with additional handling axes is the loading and unloading directly from transport baskets or other part storage with higher capacity possible. The integration of post-process devices, marking machines, spinning stations etc. are available as standard solutions. The modular system starts with the machine bed. Sizes of 1,200 mm up to 7.320 mm are available. This gives rise to small, compact machines with only one machining station up to the simultaneous machines with two main spindles, which are then bigger, but taking into account the options that they provide, still remain compact. Naturally, the machine bed is available not only in welded construction but also, as is usual at Buderus Schleiftechnik, in natural granite. Use the possibilities! 9 Buderus CNC 235 / CNC 245 Hard Machining Centre Buderus CNC Shaft Grinding Machines Tooling The shaft grinding machines from Buderus Schleiftechnik are designed for grinding OD and ID on shafts. Moreover, the integration of other processes like turning and milling is also possible. Based on the machining application, the machines are equipped with up to 6 machining units which offer capabilities for simultaneous machining. Cross Slides and Axis Up to 4 cross slides are mounted to the vertical machine base. The cross slides can be equipped with different grinding units or other peripheral components. The work spindle and the tailstock are assembled in horizontal orientation. With this design, it is possible to machine bearing seats, OD of splines, grooves and faces all in one clamping. 10 CNC 235 M and CNC 245 M Center Drive Grinding Machines Quality and Cycle Time The Buderus center drive grinding machines are ideal for machining hollow shafts, because the center drive allows both a simultaneous machining and complete machining in one clamping for IDs, ODs and faces on both sides of the shaft. The single clamping is able to maintain high runout accuracy between ground surfaces, while achieving substantial reductions in cycle time. Simultanously ID and OD grinding hollow shafts The machines are ideal for machining hollow shafts, currently used in today’s state-of-the-art dual clutch transmissions. The part is clamped in a diaphragm chuck in the center drive, optional with hydrostatical bearing. A steady rest or tailstock can be used, if needed for support, based on machining requirements. High efficient solutions High process reliability can be obtained with in-process measuring devices and touch probe systems to achieve tight grinding tolerances. The vertical machine design provides easy access to all grinding systems. These machines are offered in two sizes and feature machining solutions for a broad range of applications. One controller, one conveyor belt, one machine bed, one chip conveyor, one exhaust and one housing are enough even for two main spindles. So why not combine two machines into one? As a result, double the number of parts can be produced in the same time. More parts for less cost with less space requirement! Simultaneous grinding Why consecutively? Simultaneous grinding has been a specialty of the Buderus Schleiftechnik company since more than 20 years. One additional X-axis and one additional Z-axis can be used on the CNC 235, to be able to carry out internal grinding and external grinding simultaneously. This shortens the main operation time by the machining time of the shortest grinding operation. Double savings It is not only the grinding time that is reduced by the additional cross slide. The dressing of at least one of the two grinding wheels can be shifted to the auxiliary time by a clever arrangement of the dressing. This results in an additional reduction of the cycle time. Modular Construction In principle, anything is possible! The simultaneous grinding as well as the use of two main spindles only becomes possible by the intelligent exploitation of the construction kit und the variable working space in the machine up to an XXL working space.
