Dyn -Loc V S ingle -L oop - E ddy C urrent D ynamometer C ontroller The Dyn-Loc V is the successor to the popular Dyn-Loc IV closed-loop eddy current dynamometer controller, and can operate as a stand-alone controller or be controlled via an external computer with test automation software. The control loop updates 500 times per second providing fast, precise, and repeatable speed and torque control for eddy current dynamometers. The Dyn-Loc V has a color LCD display with touch screen to access all Dyn-Loc V functions, and provides accurate speed and torque control, simple operation, dual virtual lever-wheel setpoint entry, full color LCD display, touch screen user input, and software upgradability. NI LabVIEW™ and several other programming interfaces are supported. For eddy current dynamometer applications, a Power Amplifier Unit (PAU) will be required. The eddy-current dynamometer field coil power amplifier unit (PAU) exists in a separate chassis mount enclosure or wallmountable panel. It is sized for each dynamometer and is typically located near the dynamometer to simplify installation as well as to isolate electrical interference. Field coil currents up to 200A are supported.
