The patients elbow should be at a 90˚ angle • Have the patient squeeze with their maximum strength. Sustain for 5 seconds. The peak-hold needle will automatically record the highest force exerted 7 Conducting the Test • Record the peak value in pounds (inside dial) as shown by the red Peak-Hold Needle This would be a reading of 120 pounds. • Repeat test 2 more times • Sterilize Dynamometer with an alcohol wipe between patients 8
