www.cerc.vgtu.lt Experts of Civil Engineering The highest potential of civil engineering in Lithuania VGTU Open Access Civil Engineering Research Centre is an exceptional centre and provides notified and accredited research services in experimental testing of building materials and structures, insulation materials, thermo insulation and heat–resistant materials, acoustics, as well as in urban planning and transport links, building energy assessment, energy supply systems, roads, geodesy and land surveying, geotechnical, environmental engineering, bioengineering and in other fields of research: VGTU science – business collaboration results for the year 2014 - 2.5 million euros; more than 100 Lithuanian and foreign partners; VGTU science works have been developed at: - 3 science competence centres; - 14 institutes; - 33 science laboratories (8 accredited, 2 notified). In collaboration with research and business organizations involved in R&D activities, VGTU Open Access Civil Engineering Research Centre may be useful in the following priorities: 1. Energy-efficient house We monitor and analyze the internal microclimate and energy efficiency of the buildings, as well as opportunities for integration of the renewable energy resources into structures of the buildings. 2. Thermal insulation materials We develop and test new-generation thermo insulation materials. 3. Sustainable urban development Research of territorial urbanization infrastructure components, e.g. roads, we also perform environmental and geotechnical investigations. For Business and Science VGTU Open Access Civil Engineering Research Centre is important to optimize the expenses for the business, to improve the quality of products, services, technological processes or their individual elements. The most popular services roads pavement structures and their layers research, tests and assessment; development of new technological solutions for building constructions and foundations; tests of building materials; modeling of energy and microclimate systems for buildings; pollution and noise research. Contact us to join our efforts for success of your business! Collaboration with Business Experts of VGTU Civil Engineering Centre performed reinforcement tests and tests of railways sleepers estimating the reason of their disintegration that allows companies to significantly improve the durability of products for “NUKEM Technologies GmbH” (Germany) and Swedish capital company UAB “Swetrak”. Equipment of VGTU Open Access Civil Engineering Research Centre, unique in the Baltic region, as well as accumulated knowledge allowed these partners to essentially improve their products. VGTU IS PROUD OF THE BEST BRIDGE EXPERTS in Lithuania who are providing consultations, qualified expertises and conclusions on the newly built bridges. We cooperate with UAB “Darbasta” (Ltd.), UAB “Viadukas” (Ltd.) and other companies, building the bridges all over the country. Science Laboratories for Business Progress We offer service and consultation platform of: 1. Building Constructions 2. Building Materials 3. Building Energy and Microclimate Systems 4. Road Technologies 5. Environmental Technologies 6. Geodesy 7. Soil Physical and Mechanical Properties 8. Field Experimental Research VGTU Open Access Civil Engineering Research Centre seeks to become the main CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE in Lithuania, combining the special knowledge about passive and active buildings. We wish to share our knowledge with You ! Scietific competence: 230 Scientists 80 Other researchers Technologies for Business ECO BLOCKS for your business exclusivity and competitiveness. This is a new ecological material from hemp shives, with lower thermal conductivity and lower energy consumption in production than expanded clay lightweight concrete. These blocks are used for the construction of low-rise buildings or multi-frame building envelope constructions. Scientists are also developing other composites from hemp shives (acoustic and construction materials) and fibrous thermal insulating materials from hemp and flax fibres. BUBBLE DECK - VGTU scientists created bubble for building structures which reduces the expenses of concrete for slabs for about 40 %. VGTU Open Access Civil Engineering Research Centre researchers have developed FIRE-RESISTANT CONCRETE WITH NANO-ADDITIVES for extreme operating conditions for use in energetic and different types of waste incinerators is superior by 40 % by its physiochemical and thermal properties. AIR POLLUTION-REDUCING CYCLONE FILTER allows to reduce the air pollution from particulate matter (dust) andcan be implemented in the energy industry (boiler) to clean soot from smoke, as well as from wood (wood, paper and furniture production), building materials industry, agriculture and elsewhere. The three-level design system allows to clean 3 times more polluted air than usual multichannel cyclones. Construction of this device is simple, it is easy to operate and is characterized by competitive price. www.cerc.vgtu.lt Let’s work together VGTU Open Access Civil Engineering Research Centre (CERC) is proud of Prof. Gintaris Kaklauskas achievements in science and business. For the first time in the world professor significantly improved the structural design methods by developing the innovative reinforced concrete physical models that can accurately predict the building structures cracking, deformation, and eliminate the influence of concrete shrinkage. This new methodology was awarded by American Civil Engineering Union in 2013, while the author got the Lithuanian Science Prize. Prof. G. Kaklauskas consults the biggest world‘s construction companies, e.g., Danish „Cowi“, and shares his experiences with Hong Kong, Zurich, Vienna Technology, Dresden, Turin Polytechnic, Catalonia, Danishtechnical and other universities. In addition, G. Kaklauskas was visiting professor at prof. habil. dr. GINTARIS KAKLAUSKAS the University of Illinois, which has recognized as the best construction faculty which has been recognized in United States. „I invite you to cooperate and build the worldclass technologies in VGTU Open Access Civil Engineering Research Centre!“ Our partners and customers Contact us Lidija Kraujalienė Manager of Open Access Centre Vilnius Gediminas Technical University Saulėtekio av. 11, LT-10223 Vilnius, Lithuania Tel: +370 648 55 160 E-mail: lidija.kraujaliene@vgtu.lt cimc@vgtu.lt Web: www.cerc.vgtu.lt dr.
