Large volume surface backbox
• For use with 8" speaker
Large volume surface-mount backbox for ceiling or wall installation of 8" speaker in a school, office, medical facility,
restaurant, hotel, or retail space features 1.5” thick acoustic
lining to allow the speaker to operate at a more optimum
loading level and provide the system with improved low frequency response.
Construction & Features
• Front formed flanges has U-clips to add screw-mount
grille (Model No. JG-8X, order separately).
• Clean, square design is precision formed from 20-ga.
steel and features welded seams.
• Measures 12.563” square x 7.938”D
• Rear features .375" hole with grommet for wire access
and is punched with universal mounting pattern for installation to 4" square, 4" octagon, 2-gang or 1-gang
E.O. box (not included).
• 1.5” thick acoustic batting
• White powder epoxy finish
• Made in the U.S.A. with certified U.S. steel
A & E Specifications
The surface-mount backbox shall be Lowell Model CB88,
which shall be fabricated of 20-gauge steel and lined with
1.5" thick acoustic batting. The rear shall include provisions
to mount to a 4" square, 4" octagon, 2-gang or 1-gang E.O.
box (not included). The rear of the backbox shall also feature a 3/8" dia. hole with grommet for wire access. The
backbox shall have four mounting holes and 8-32 U-clips
