• For 8” speaker
Model FW-8 is an attractive beveled edge steel grille with perforated center and
a separate speaker-to-backbox subplate. The grille is finished in white powder
epoxy. The subplate is finished in black powder epoxy and includes corrosion-resistant 8-32 hardware to mount an 8” EIA speaker. The speaker/subplate assembly is engineered to direct-mount to a backbox using 8-32 x 1.5” screws
provided. The direct-mount installation method allows a high quality 8” driver
with substantial motor structure weight to be supported by the backbox instead
of the grille. The non-loadbearing FW-8 grille mounts using four 8-32 x 0.375”
white screws. See chart for compatible components. Order speaker and backbox separately.

A&E Specifications:
The grille for the 8” speaker shall be Lowell Model FW-8, which shall be
18-gauge steel with perforated center and beveled frame. It shall be 13” square
with a mounting projection of 0.313”. The grille shall include a 21-gauge steel
subplate and mounting hardware with provisions for mounting an 8” speaker
and for mounting the speaker/adapter assembly to specified backbox. The subplate shall be finished in black powder epoxy. The non-loadbearing grille shall be
finished in white powder epoxy and shall mount to the specified backbox using
four 8-32 x 0.375” white screws.
