Do you love working with children? We may have the job for you. Ashley House is a non-profit organization that provides 24 hour care to medically fragile children in a group home setting. We have several Home Health Aide positions available. Requirements for this position include:

Completed a nursing assistant course and passed all required tests of competency

Nursing Assistant Certification with the State of Washington

Valid Washington State Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record

Ability to pass a criminal background check with the State of Washington

Able to lift up to fifty pounds

Able to work twelve (12) hour shifts (6 a.m. – 6 p.m. or 6 p.m. – 6 a.m.) two or three days per week

Prior experience in a pediatric setting helpful

Ashley House provides holistic care for the children. Our staff must consider the physical, psychological, social/cultural and spiritual dimensions of patients. Duties include: implementing plan of care for patients, personal care including personal hygiene, and transportation of patients.

Ashley House provides a thorough on the job orientation to new employees to ensure competency and conformance with standards of care. The first four (4) weeks, new employees will work up to 36 hours per week for orientation. After orientation is completed, new employees are typically considered on call employees. On call employees will work a variety of hours depending on individual availability and flexibility.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands of this position, including the work environment, are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job. The position requires the employee to work on-site at one of the organization’s group homes or at one of the alternate locations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to: stand; walk; sit; squat; push wheelchairs and strollers; use household items such as vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, broom, kitchen appliances, household cleaners; climb stairs; and communicate effectively with the organization’s employees and third parties. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; or use a lift device to move more than 50 pounds. The employee is required to operate a motor vehicle.

The majority of the employee’s job duties are performed indoors in a residential setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee will be exposed to prevalent weather conditions when leaving or entering the buildings or en route to one of the homes. In some circumstances, the employee may be required to conduct some job duties outside, in medical settings, and in the presence of non-employees, such as patients, families, and state officials.
