adjacent wells. Halliburton recommended using the RapidStage™
sleeve system, along with the VersaFlex® liner system and the
Swellpacker® zonal isolation system. As a result, the operator
completed both wells in record time: 32 stages in just 108 hours,
approximately 25 days faster than conventional frac operations.

Wellbore Cleaning Technology
Improving Efficiency, Reliability and Completion Time
Efficient Wellbore Cleanup and Displacement
Improving Fishing Runs
To help operators ensure that the wellbore is clean and free
of obstructions and debris, Halliburton offers the innovative
CleanWell® system with advanced well cleaning technologies.
These technologies can help reduce mechanical risk, save rig time
and improve wellsite efficiencies.
CleanWell® tools can help operators dramatically improve
performance and efficiency during the critical wellbore cleanup
and displacement phase of well construction.
Many CleanWell tools are ideal for fishing applications,
when efficient removal of debris is needed before operations
can continue. The Vac Tech® system can efficiently retrieve larger
debris than would be possible with reverse circulation alone.
Additionally, Mag Tech magnets and Vali Tech junk baskets can
be run alongside conventional fishing tools to increase the chance
of recovery.
With high torsion and tension limits, many CleanWell tools can
be run as a rotary bottomhole assembly, eliminating the need
for a motor when drilling out cement. Advanced tools such as the
Inflow Tech® test packer, Bristle Tech® brush and Vali Tech® filter
are designed to work quickly and efficiently to reduce rig time
and expensive dedicated runs.
Casing Cleaning Tools
Bristle Tech® brushes and Drill Tech® scraper tools are designed
to mechanically remove solid materials from the inner casing
wall. This restores the well’s flowing capacity and helps polish the
casing, ensuring a tight, secure seal during future operations.
Single-Trip Solutions for Drilling
Riser Cleaning Tools
Halliburton riser cleaning tools remove solids and debris from the
riser while protecting it from damage during operations. These
tools include innovative technologies such as the Mag Tech® riser
magnet and Vor Tech® junk basket which can remove large debris
that is too dense to be circulated out of the well.
Jetting and Bypass Tools
CleanWell tools use simple activation sequences to eliminate
complex and unnecessary procedures. The Jet Sub and Jet Tech®
systems feature phased and nozzled ports to efficiently flush the
blowout preventer and wellhead. Additionally, the Turbo Tech®
bypass valve uses a multi-activation design to allow optimal
circulating rates.
Drilling applications are common in preparation for plug and
abandonment, window mill cutting runs, and pre-liner running
cleanout trips. CleanWell tools can help operators get the
wellbore ready for production quickly.
Bristle Tech brushes feature spring-loaded inserts that maintain consistent pressure
against the casing.
®
Specialty Tools
During plug and abandonment operations or to prepare for liner
hangers, the Drill Tech® scraper can remove debris from the
wellbore for a reliable packer or liner hanger seal. Additionally,
PowerMag® and Mag Tech® magnet tools are designed to retrieve
ferrous debris during drilling and milling runs so operators will
not need to make a dedicated trip downhole.
Specialty Mills
Debris extraction tools remove particles and debris that weren’t
circulated out of the well. Innovative systems include the
PowerMag® magnet and Vac Tech® downhole eductor system to
remove large debris and the Vali Tech® filter tool to collect solid
contaminates in vertical wellbores.
The CleanWell integral stabilized bladed mill delivers a casingfriendly design to help with debris removal and drift restoration.
The mill uses four or five blades for aggressive milling and
drillout performance. The spiral wrap string mill features
360-degree coverage to restore casing drift and reduce debris size.

Single-Trip
Operations
20
CleanWell tools are frequently used to help ensure reliable well
operation and reduce the risk of damage to other equipment after
perforating the well. The Drill Tech deburring tool allows packers
and other relatively fragile completion equipment to be safely run
through perforation zones.
To help operators save time and money, the Vac Tech system is
run with other plug retrieval tools to create a single-trip solution
to remove debris and retrieve packers simultaneously.
Because every well faces unique challenges, Halliburton offers
CleanWell specialty tools that provide innovative solutions to
many complex operations.
Debris Extraction Tools
Designed for
Post-Perforation Debris and Packer Removal
The Halliburton CleanWell system is built to enable single-trip
operations. By combining multiple tools on a single sting, operators
can accomplish several well cleaning operations simultaneously
and eliminate the need for multiple trips downhole.
