We show that a minimum mean square error (MMSE) receiver implies maximum signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) in the single target scenario, and discuss application of an SNR maximization procedure to optimizing the transmitted radar signal. Finally, we present preliminary results, confirming that this procedure indeed yields the optimal result in this case.
