Dear:
As a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), I serve
on an Academic-Practice Task Force sponsored by the American Association of
Colleges of Nursing and AONE. Specifically, the task force is charged with
developing a road map for nursing leaders to develop and sustain effective
academic-practice partnerships. We have defined an academic practice
partnership as follows: A relationship between practice and academia based on
mutual goals, mutual respect and shared knowledge for the purpose of
advancing the profession of nursing and enhancing outcomes of care.
Given your facility’s Magnet Hospital designation by the American Nurses
Credentialing Center, the task force invites you to participate in the attached
survey. We hope to engage in an international dialogue on current and future
best practices.
I look forward to your participation. If you have any questions please contact me
directly.
Sincerely,
Linda Q. Everett, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN
