Self-Selected Article Language and Content Area Learning 1. Do an Eric Search to find journal articles on research on language and a content area (math, science, social studies). Make sure to use the Advanced Search option to limit by journal, years, and grade levels of your interest. 2. Record number of “hits” for your search. Then, read through the abstracts to get an idea of what questions researchers ask in this area a of study. 3. Write a synopsis of the types of questions, topics, ideas that are being studied that you glean from reading the abstracts. 4. Choose ONE article to find, print, and read to share in class. 5. Read the Article and write a summary of the ideas from the study. Follow the template given for your summary.
