Since the last UPR, there have been reports of a negative trend for the freedom of
expression in Kuwait. How will the Government of Kuwait ensure that its citizens can
exercise their right to freedom of opinion and expression?

During the first cycle of the UPR, the Government of Kuwait agreed to revoke the
Kafala sponsorship system and replace it with regulations in accordance with
international standards. What steps have been undertaken to implement this
recommendation?

What concrete measures are the Government of Kuwait planning in order to provide
legal protection for domestic workers?

Women are still being discriminated within the legal system. Which steps will Kuwait
take in order to end gender discrimination in the national legislation, specifically with
regard to personal status laws and nationality laws? Would Kuwait consider granting
Kuwaiti women the right to pass on their nationality to their husbands and children?

Could the Kuwaiti government elaborate on the measures taken to grant citizenship to
the Bidoon population and improve their access to public services?
