This week at school…
Reading – 4th quarter goal for Reading Log - 10 books completed in 9 weeks. Review of
Reading strategies for Reading SOL and practice quizzes.
Writing – Grammar lesson: Proper use of dialogue in story writing. Students will begin
their outline of events and opening paragraph for an original story. New word study
words & test on words and sentences on Friday.
Math – Measurement: Mass/Weight in customary and metric measurement. Estimating
mass/weight and identifying appropriate measurements. Measurement quiz on Friday.
VA Studies - Reconstruction test Wednesday on Chapter 8: Rebuilding VA and complete
notes on Chapter 9: Changing Times. Continue to review for VA Studies SOL test in
5/18. Complete all of SOL Pass online. Students will make a poster titled: Virginia A to Z
with many of the facts they have learned.

May 6 – Walk –A-Thon – Walk with your teacher after school around the track
May 11 – Chick Fil A Cluster night – 5:00- 8:00 pm
May 16 – SCA Beach Spirit Day!
