Monday Memo Ms. Abbate November 30, 2015 Class Agenda: Reading – This week we will focus on cause and effect in fiction books. Students are continuing to work on their story wheel project. Books should be completed as soon as possible (they may take them home now if they are not complete). All projects will be due next Friday, the 18th. Writing – This week we are writing a persuasive letter to King James! We are informing him of the awful Jamestown living conditions and persuading him to send more supplies. Math –Students are continuing to review multiplication and there will be a multiplication test this Wednesday. We will also be working on patterns. Virginia Studies – Students are continuing the study of Jamestown and there is a possible test this Friday. Reminders 1. Our class still needs expo markers! We use these almost every day in math! Thank you to those who have donated (we do NOT need more notecards, thank you everyone!) 2. The holiday sing-along is on the morning of December 18th. 3. Please let me know if your child will miss any school leading up to our winter break or right after our winter break. 4. Thank you to all of the students and parents who purchased books from the Book Fair for our classroom. I know we will all enjoy reading them! 5. Sophia D will have her last day in class with us THIS FRIDAY She has been such a valuable part of our classroom family and she will be greatly missed!!!!! 6.
