Executive Board Report:




Chair: Had a good break watched tv and hung out with my dogs. Hope we have a good winter quarter.
Executive Assistant: Thank you everyone who turned in fall quarter Community service hours. Please let me know your meeting
times, date, and location asap. Also if you need any documents like community service or funds request forms feel free to stop by
the BOD office 236 and I can give those to you.
Community Programmer: Discussing possibly having Block party indoors for winter quarter. Working on the new What is ESC? Ad
too.
Advisor: Welcome back everyone! Over break CLCE wanted to know if they could get volunteers for MLK day. Lincoln Elmentary
January 14 9am-11am, Mt. Stuart January 15 9am-2pm. If interested please come to the CLCE. Next week speaker discussing High
school students and getting them interested in CWU.
Special Guests: Sharon Jonasson: Provided everyone with organization-Allocation Tracking spreadsheet, every org is alocatied 3,500 dollars
a year. If your org needs funds please visit Sharon in the Accounting office in the SURC so that we can be proactive and complete the
appropriate documents prior to submitting the funds request to Spencer. Sharon will make corrections to the spreadsheet and email them
to Spencer. Foundation accounts do not go through the Surc accounting account if you wish to access those funds visit the Foundation
account office.
Org Reports:








BSU: Want to be involved with the MLK events, also preparing for Showtime at the Mconell February 21st auditions and screening
early this month, also want to work on other Black History month possible a video and partition board in the SURC. Ginger will
provide updates.
VIP: Have not had a meeting nor set a time. Alice and Wendy will be meeting with graphic design class to start working on Rock
against Rape graphic
NASA: Absent
FASA: Meeting Thursday’s at 7 in Black 203, First meeting this Thursday, pinoy pinay retreat, planning a lot of fundraising,
Bleechers event went really well. UTOPIA event went well, will have specific numbers soon.
EQuAL: First meeting will be tomorrow SURC 301 7pm, Valentines dance again this year like last year.
MeCha: Absent
FGSO: Absent
ABLE: Surc 201 Tuesday 4pm, worked on automated crosswalks, and over break they were put in. Working on brining sports
programs to CWU for students with disabilities,

ROTARACT: Meetings Thursday at 6pm black Surc 135.

Ginger: thought it was interesting to see who you are as a person and to see the dynamics of how you interact with other people.
Eryka: Enjoyed building relationships with other people, wished there was more time to invite other org members.

ROTARACT Recognition: Entertains a motion to recognize Rotaract as an ESC org, FASA so moves, Equal seconds, 5-0-0 motion
passes. Now must go to the Public meeting and speak on what Rotaract is to finish the process.
Volunteer Hours: congratulations everyone on getting your hours in!
Open Forum Question: Spencer sits on the inclusivity and diversity council, Dr. Cleary the chair of the council would like to hear
experiences people have had on campus. The forums are anonymous each folder has 10 forums if you need more feel free to
print them out Spencer emailed them to everyone. The open forums are due on January 27 at our meeting.
Observer Advertising: Alsyssa has previously discussed us doing a “what is ESC” blurb in the observer, we have received pricing a
quarter of a page with 9 ads is $1,116, half a page $2,232. Most likely moving forward with this. Alyssa will be contacting you to
get more descriptive blurbs. Also if you haven’t already sent Spencer your blurb for online please do so soon ASAP. Admissions
use those blurbs for flyers about diversity at CWU. Please look over your orgs current blurb and have the updated versions to
Spencer.
Updated Funds Request Packet: Changed that if funds request is over 200 dollars give 10 days before requesting funds. Fewer
than 200 is still 5 days. Also please type the funds request from no on.
ABLE’s funds request: At the end of the month planning on going to Portland State University they have an adaptive sports
stadium and has adaptive sports for students with disabilities, ABLE wants to bring the ideas from PSU and bring them to CWU
already met with the head of CWU’s head of the rec center and he is on board. Transportation documents are completed.
Quarterly planner: fill it out with things your orgs are doing so that we can create an electronic version so everyone knows what is
happening in your org. Even if it is tentative please let us know. If you would like it digitally spencer will provide them.
Issues/Concerns/Announcements


Jonny: Professors are phasing out blackboard because they are switching to system called canvas.
Confirmed the constitution, semi-confirmed that the by-laws are completed just need to double check.
Public Comments: Public Comments may be submitted to Spencer Flores in person or via email BODcommunity@cwu.edu. Public comments
may also be presented at the time of the meeting
