1 Avionics & Cabin Systems Modification Manager ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP Reports to the Vice President of Maintenance GENERAL SUMMARY This position provides overall leadership and direction for Avionics & Cabin Equipment/Systems design, certification, and installation functions, including development of related pricing quotations. This position provides SME support to the sales team and customers for related product areas. He/she will assist Pentastar’s management team in devising appropriate avionics modification offerings to support short and long term business goals. PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 1) Provide leadership, motivation and direct supervision of assigned Avionics Design and Installation Teams, to maintain high levels of employee engagement 2) Proactively manage resources and priorities to enable efficient and timely completion of day to day business objectives in strict accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements and company procedures. 3) Manage modification and related certification timelines to coincide with project completion objectives 4) In concert with Maintenance Production and Quality Control teams, coordinate the timely organized completion of all facets of any given aircraft project to provide for the customer’s complete satisfaction 5) Ensure employees are equipped with the resources necessary to achieve assigned tasks. 6) Ensure the professional and comprehensive recordation of alteration data and manages related document retention files. 7) Provide significant input and management approval of pricing/downtime quotations for avionics and cabin equipment system modifications. 8) In concert with the sales and management teams, conducts financial analysis of potential STC projects to enable understanding of ROI feasibility and related timelines. 9) Maintain productive working relationships with FAA ACO and FSDO personnel. 10) Provide input for budget including capital spending and training needs 1 2 QUALIFICATIONS 1) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering 2) Airframe and Powerplant Certification 3) Minimum of five years recent experience in avionics system design and related certification activities involving 14 CFR Part 25 aircraft, including in-depth experience with supplemental type certification and related FAA ACO protocol and procedures. 4) Minimum of five years of supervisory/managerial experience in the maintenance and/or avionics modification of modern corporate turbine powered aircraft 5) Proficiency in the use of CAD software programs 6) Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Regulatory requirements applicable to functions under the management responsibilities of this position 7) Recent or current certification as a FAA DER (systems and equipment), or recent involvement as a member of an ODA Unit providing aircraft avionics systems modification is preferred.
