Location: Milwaukee, WI Position: Avionics Engineer Type: Direct Hire Position Travel: 50% international travel required. Will be responsible for developing avionics requirements specifications, functional allocation, modeling avionics design, aircraft electrical compatibility, and design reviews for aircraft modification design. This position requires a particular strength in avionic systems engineering for aircraft modification design. Experience avionics design engineer. Motivated and energetic. Knowledgeable in design for assembly and manufacture practices. Knowledgeable in systems engineering processes including specification, statement of works, functional allocation, hardware and software integration, and systems specialties engineering integration. Commitment to budget and schedule adherence. Knowledgeable in flight management systems, electronic flight instruments, autopilot systems, heads up displays, communications, navigation systems, data recording systems, aircraft power systems, wiring standards, EMC practices, antenna systems, and all forms of avionics analysis. Provide design guidance and develop staff design skills. Maintain compliance with ISO 9000 design process standards. Strong interpersonal communications ability. Ability to work under pressure. Coordinate conceptual design activities for proposal activity. Liaison with airworthiness and production staff. Keep abreast of the latest design innovations. Bachelor or Master’s of engineering degree in Electrical, Software, or Avionics preferable. Commercial and military aircraft design skills. Knowledgeable of the Lockheed C-130, Boeing F-4, A-4, and Northrop F-5 aircraft. Knowledgeable in avionics computer aided design, computer aided engineering, and project data management systems. Three years plus aircraft design experience modification experience preferred. Specialty experience in aircraft avionics and systems update modifications.
