RESEARCH TOPIC REQUIREMENTS – 35 POINTS

Regarding your class Psychology Topic Research assignment, below are some informational
requirements that must be included and will prove helpful in preparing your required 4-page
report. The report should be no less than 4 full pages of (DOUBLE SPACED) content, plus a
cover page and reference page (6 TOTAL PAGES). APA CITATIONS MUST BE USED FOR
REFERENCING ALL CITATIONS.
Include the following:
1. COVER PAGE: MUST include the topic that you have chosen, including the words
(PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF…), name of student, name and title of instructor (as
shown on the syllabus), course code, course title and school name, school location, with
the complete address, and date of the semester.
2.
BODY OF THE PAPER: Should include the following: Introductory paragraph about
your topic, and why you chose it or why it interested you or any introductory or opening
remarks regarding your topic. ABSTRACTS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
3.
DEFINITION: Provide a definition with an in text citation of your topic from a
recognized reference (psychological source if possible).
4.
DESCRIPTION: Please describe your topic in a great deal of detail, mention any
symptoms, characteristics, unique physical changes, diagnosis, any personality
alterations, habits, behaviors, psychological effects on self and or others.
5.
HISTORY: Has any research been done? Is there a heredity component? Is this a
recognized subject? Include any environment, social or other influences?
6.
TREATMENT: Provide any information concerning therapy, medication, treatments
consultation or any chemical, herbal, or other psychiatric interventions.
7.
FAMILY: Any impact on the patient or the client with significant others, family
members, spouses, friends, co-workers, etc.
8.
PROGNOSIS: If appropriate, future predictions, long term effects, spontaneous
remissions, etc.
9.
CONCLUSION-CLOSING REMARKS – (MANDATORY): In closing, feel free to
express your opinion on the topic.
10.
REFERENCES: MUST BE IN APA and Required (NO LESS THAN THREE). Use the
APA FORMAT with your references.
