CONSULTATION ON SALFORD’S HEALTH INVESTMENT
FOR TOMORROW (THE SHIFT PROJECT)
SUMMARY
The attached document gives details of consultation
Salford and Trafford Health Authority are holding
concerning changes they want to make to health care
services in Salford. These changes will be part of a major
scheme known as Salford’s Health Investment for
Tomorrow or SHIFT.
RECOMMENDATION
THAT Members views on how to contribute to this
consultation exercise are requested.

Details
1.1. No detail or firm decisions have been taken as yet
other than:
 To improve access to and effectiveness of local
services in Salford
 To create several primary care centres
 To replace the outdated Victorian ward blocks at
Hope Hospital
 To increase the total bed capacity of the local health
systems, particularly for immediate care.
