Part 1: Choose two words from this week’s assigned reading that you did not know the meanings
of. Look up the words in a dictionary and IN YOUR OWN WORDS explain the definition for
each.

Part 2: On pages 17-19 of Writing With Style, John Trimble suggests that a good way to begin
writing is to come up with questions about your subject. Now that you have read the assignment
sheet for our first essay, which is a Personal Narrative, use this space to list some possible subjects
for your essay and some possible questions. You must come up with at least ONE possible subject
and at least FIVE TO TEN total questions.
