Mr. Eklil Ahmad Hakimi, Minister
of Finance
Eklil Ahmad Hakimi was born in 1968 in Kabul,
Afghanistan. After graduating from Istiqlal French
High School in 1985, he obtained his Master’s degree
from the Kabul Polytechnic Institute. Upon the
completion of his studies, Hakimi joined the Afghan
Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Due to the worsening situation in Kabul, Hakimi and
his family moved to the United States in 1994. During
his time in the U.S., he worked in engineering,
banking, management and strategic planning.
