EXPLORING CAREERS

Help students identify their career interests through a career assessment program,
such as MOIS or interest inventories conducted by your school counselor.
Once the students have identified careers they may be interested in have them surf
the web to find information on the careers such as career trends, necessary
education, job descriptions, salary ranges, etc.
Next have students go to a job search, such as www.michworks.org and conduct a
job search.
Students then can take the information they have gathered and put together a
presentation or writing assignment based on what they have learned.
You can also encourage students to further explore their career interests by
incorporating the information they gained into developing an exploratory SAE.
