Graduates
Intercultural awareness
Derived from the study of language, literature, culture and society and the experience of the year abroad,
leading to tolerant, professional and informed attitudes to the language and culture studied.
Self management
Work effectively without direction; organise work and manage time and resources effectively.
Communication Skills
Write clearly and effectively, using appropriate language. Communicate effectively and appropriately one to
one or to an audience through a presentation. Communicate clearly, fluently and confidently both in oral
and written forms in languages other than English.
Languages
Written and spoken fluency in up to three European languages
Critical analysis
Able to research and critically evaluate texts, formation and argument to offer informed and logical
arguments of their own.
Flexibility
Confident in exploring different approaches and exercising personal responsibility and initiative.
ICT skills
Have computer and IT skills required for the handling of textual and graphical information, including the use
of the Internet for research.
Problem solving
Able to identify problems and ways of resolving them.
Teamwork
Able to participate in group activities and seminars and to use material derived from these to inform written
assessments
