4th Grade Newsletter Week of August 24, 2015 Look What We’re Learning . . . Language Arts – Students will practice the procedures of Reader’s Workshop. Writing-Students will practice the procedures of Writer’s Workshop. Students will decorate notebook. This is due Monday, August 30th. Also they will complete first day story and illustrate with a colored picture. Spelling-Students will complete a short spelling inventory. Social Studies –Students will identify and describe the regions in Texas. Math –This week students will use a problem solving model to analyze information, formulate a plan, determine a solution, justify the solution and evaluate for reasonableness. Students will also interpret the value of each place-value as 10 times the position to the right. Science –This week students will organize the science journal and explore tools for measuring. It was a really good first day and an EXCELLENT second day of 4th grade! A lot of procedures and expectations have been discussed. We'll be solidifying those over the next few weeks and this should lead to an action packed and funfilled year.
