Governments of all shapes and sizes are designed
to control the masses. The level of control exerted
by each government is the determining factor as
to where it lands on the scale from authoritarian
to democratic. Describe the circumstances of
William’s exile from the standpoint of his
challenge to the control of the Mass Bay Colony.
Why were his ideas such a threat? In what ways,
other than his absence, was his exile meant to
eliminate that threat? How did the levels of
control enacted in Providence contrast with what
he left?
