1. Meeting was called to order by Co-Chair L. Milke at 12:35 p.m.
2. Review/approved minutes from April 10, 2008
3. Review/approved minutes for September 11, 2008 with one correction for the last meeting was
in April 2008 and not June 2008.
4. Karen distributed the latest college budget monthly projection. We are still working on a plan
to eliminate the $1 M deficit. We have asked the district to be relieved of this reoccurring
problem. This problem is being reviewed by the auditors at the district.
5. Institutionalization of Math Center – Debbie Wong gave an overall review of the Math Center
Grant coming to an end. She gave a report of the annual expenditures explaining that the
number of hours used in the Math Center has increased by 4 K hours which is an increase of
about 50%. Alma suggested the Math Center being connected to the Learning Center. Other
funds will be research. A meeting will be set up between Susan, EPC director and Debbie to
discuss this issue further.
6. Budget and planning Process (draft) Review. Leslie asked to review the members to review the
Assessment, Planning and Budgeting draft provided by M. Pearl. Some Comments were made
as to the wording, and minor changes were suggested. It was suggested to give the draft to
College Council for their review. Alma will review the SFPs and categorical programs on page
7. Frances will review the timelines.
Meeting adjourned at 2:05 p.m.
Next meeting 11-13-08. It was recommended to change the meeting to the 1st Thursday of the month
at 12:00 noon.
