Adjectives

Adjectives describe or modify nouns and pronouns.

I.

Adjectives often precede nouns:

We left the boring movie.

The ferocious fire burned during the night.

 The dedicated student studied for hours

 The red balloon drifted away.

The dry leaves crackled under my feet.

We walked into the warm and smoky night.

Bill had a challenging job interview yesterday.

II.

Adjectives also follow linking verbs and describe the noun before th linking verb.

The child is curious about science.

 The movie was interesting.

 Juan and Mario are talented.

The fire became fierce after midnight.
