1) Caregiver as savior= rescue children from parents
2) Caregiver as superior to parent= sees parents as clients and tries to change them and educate
them
3) Caregiver as partner to parent and family= mutual relationship communicating openly

Childcare programs should:
a) Focus on child
b) Focus on family
c) Schedule time for parent conferences
d) Make parents feel at home
e) Listen and reflect when conflict arises

Have daily communication among team members and with parents including positive feedback

Ten principles when working with adults:
1) Teamwork among staff
