Change and Crisis, 1954-1965 Rich Binning Graduate history student (to be awarded the M.A. in history December 18, 2010), Rich Binning, will present findings from his M.A. thesis, "Change and Crisis, 1954-1965," and argue that Mississippi Methodist minister the Reverend Edwin King of Jackson manipulated the segregated Mississippi Methodist church to such an extent that turmoil within its white adherents led to crisis after crisis until change finally took place, and the Methodist church became desegregated.
