COOPERATION BETWEEN CHINA AND FRANCE IN
THE FASHION & LUXURY INDUSTRIES
The fashion and luxury industry is a very competitive global industry, changing rapidly.
European companies are attracted by the booming Chinese market for luxury goods
representing already 10-13 million consumers – mainly entrepreneurs and young professionals.
On their side, Chinese companies are developing their own brands and distribution network,
looking for value added activities and partnerships with foreign firms.
In 2005, HEC has extended significantly its cooperation in China with the School of
Economics and Management of Tsinghua University through two major events:


The “AXA-HEC-Tsinghua initiative” in the field of management education
focusing on research and faculty development and offering joint education
programs in management, strategy and finance. Special attention is paid to the
insurance, banking and asset management sector
