For immediate release First intake of the AMP in Fashion and Luxury September 29th 2006 HEC-IFM and Tsinghua SEM open the first class of the Advanced Management Program in Fashion & Luxury. Held in the presence of senior representatives of HEC Paris (Associate Dean JP Larçon) , Institut Français de la Mode (M. A. Wang), Tsinghua SEM (Associate Dean LIAO Li and Professor XUE Lei, Director of Executive Development Program), and the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Mrs G. MaratierDeclety), the opening ceremony took place in Beijing on the 22nd September 2006 A group of 51 participants came from numerous different industries; fashion & luxury products (ETAM), apparel, home decoration (Boloni), cosmetics (L'Oréal), distribution (Lufthansa Shopping City), advertising and media, watch industry (Fiyta-Harmony), investment and services (Sodhexo, Palladium Group) and high tech companies (Motorola) and were gathered from all over China; Beijing, Changsha, Datong, Harbin, Hong-Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Shenyang, Taipei, Wenzhou, Xi’An. The majority of these participants are in their thirties and occupy positions of CEOs, Directors, program managers or experts working for Chinese and international corporations. Supported by an international faculty, they will be able to enhance their management skills and share experiences on their common ambition: how to create more value in design-led industries though better integration of product development, design, marketing and distribution as well as brand building? The first six seminars of the AMP in Fashion & Luxury will be taught in Beijing at Tsinghua SEM between September 2006 and March 2007. This series will be followed by a unique “International Experience” in Paris dedicated to understanding the essence of Fashion & Luxury Industry (May 2007) and contacts with leading companies, designers and institutions. The HEC-IFM cooperation with the SEM of Tsinghua University has inititated new progress in the fashion and luxury sector. On April 1st, at the Fashion & Luxury Management Forum in Beijing, Chinese and international companies professionals outlined the business opportunities and the management training needs of one of the fastest growing economic sector in China. The Forum focused on competitive global strategies in the industry and the art of developing global brands with the participation of senior executives of Bluebell, Devanlay-Lacoste, ETAM-Intermoda, Gucci Group, L’Oréal, LVMH, Montagut, Modern Media Group, etc The School of Economics and Management of the University of Tsinghua, the Institut Français de la Mode - the Paris expertise centre for creative industries - and HEC Paris, the leading French and European business school, joined forces to develop the exchange of experience between companies and to serve their management training needs.
