Students will gain an understanding of economic concepts such as scarcity, supply and demand, inflation, taxation, economic growth and interdependence. The major emphasis is on the economy of the United States, but significant attention will be given to the interdependent world economy as a whole, and to other economic systems. CLASS SUPPLIES Students must come to class with the following supplies each and every day: Three ring binder, loose leaf paper, Pocket folder, Pen or Pencil CLASSROOM RULES AND REGULATIONS The following rules will apply at all times: 1. Be on time every day! A sweep pass will be issued if you are late. You must be in your assigned seat when the bell rings. 2. The district policy states that 12 absences from a half-year class will result in immediate course failure. 3. All school rules will be strictly enforced. (No eating in class, no cell phones, no headphones etc.) Only bottled water will be permitted. 4. Always raise your hand to speak, no calling out in class. 5. Be respectful to others! Disrespectful or rude behavior will not be tolerated. 6. Bathroom passes are for emergencies only. (Please contact Mr. Watson if any Medical Conditions exist.) TESTS, QUIZZES, AND HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS 1. Tests will always be announced in advance. Review sheets may be provided. 2. Expect quizzes on homework assignments, class assignments, and in-class discussions. These quizzes will not always be announced. 3. It is your responsibility to make up all missing work. Assignments that you miss while you are absent are expected to be made up. If they are not made up they will be counted as zeroes. This includes tests, quizzes, projects etc. You will be expected to get any notes you have missed from a classmate. 4. Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated! This includes plagiarism, copying homework, and any talking during tests or quizzes. Any form of cheating will result in a grade of zero and a phone call home!
