Activity notes B1a 1.1: Keeping a balance Homeostasis This activity can be used at the end of the lesson as a revision aid for students showing how temperature can affect the body. The activity could be undertaken by individual students or as a group or class activity. The activity also provides an excellent opportunity to dispel common myths about temperature control, such as the blood vessels moving up through the skin and hot sweat getting rid of waste heat. Please note that this activity only covers retaining and losing heat. Homeostasis in the specification also covers water content and carbon dioxide. © Harcourt Education 2006, AQA Science Uncovered This document may have been changed from the original. 1 of 1
